ESR was formed in the early 1980's by Steve Graham one of the existing directors. The company was involved in the design and repair of lighting and sound equipment for the booming Club and Disco scene on Tyneside.

After a few years of trading, it became apparent that there was a lack of suppliers in the region that stocked all the components and spares necessary to carry out this type of work.

In 1987 the company decided to turn its attention to supplying components and accessories, and became the first component supplier in the North East of England dedicated to supplying the Entertainment Industry.

With the help of his brother Antony, they formed ESR Electronic Components. The company has now supplied components all over the UK and has a well established overseas market.

With major advances in technology in the Entertainment Industry, it has become noticeable that there is not the demand to repair equipment, but replace it with equipment of a higher specification. We now feel the company should change direction again, and this is why we have decided to open a new website TheElectronicsShop.co.uk

Some of our present customers are involved with the repair and maintenance of existing installations. We will now be able to offer them and new customers the chance to replace their old low tech equipment with superior modern state or the art equipment.

ESR Electronic Components Ltd has always had a policy of supplying products which for fill a particular application, therefore knowing the product specifications are regarded as one of the most important requirements.

The equipment we are stocking is from leading European suppliers and therefore the names may not be familiar to new customers. We carry in stock a wide and broad range of commercial  Sound and Lighting Equipment. Our customers include local authorities, schools and colleges, as well as many clubs, pubs, disco's, places of worship and theatres. We have always had a very aggressive pricing policy which we will maintain in this latest venture.

The shops are located in Station Road Cullercoats, where there is ample free parking. If you are unable to collect from our premises, you are more than welcome to browse the websites and we can arrange to have the goods delivered.

In May 2011 we introduced a range of ready assembled electronic modules from CEBEK, a Spanish manufacturer of high quality electronic projects.
