The XL-ITR8102 Slotted Optical Sensor is a compact slot-type photointerrupter designed for accurate object detection, position sensing and motion control in electronic and automation projects. Supplied as a through-hole device, it is easy to mount on PCBs, making it ideal for prototyping, robotics and embedded control systems.

The sensor integrates an infrared LED emitter and a phototransistor receiver positioned opposite each other across a narrow slot. When an object or interrupter passes through the slot, the infrared beam is blocked, causing a change in the output signal.
